Missions

Heritage is committed to caring for others—both in the local community and around the world.  We have sponsored four Habitat for Humanity Houses.  We’ve sent lay missionaries to Haiti, Cuba, and Ecuador, and for disaster relief efforts in Florida, south Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama.  Our youth have made mission trips to Florida, North Carolina, New York City, Miami, Atlanta, Washington DC, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Canada.
In 2003 we began Operation Inasmuch, a hands-on mission work day in our community.  We try to involve everyone in our church family, and we welcome all who wish to join us as we build wheelchair ramps, wash windows, and reach out in many other ways to those in need.  Through Operation Inasmuch, the church family has volunteered countless hours for many worthwhile ministries such as Advocates for Bartow’s Children, Tranquility House Women’s Shelter and the Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter.  We also support these shelters regularly through our church budget, as well as medical needs in Ecuador.
Our church family has partnered with World Relief to help a family from Iraq immigrate and settle in the Cartersville area . With churches of all denominations in our community, we work to support the Community Church Shop to provide good, clean clothes at a low cost to those in need. We partner with First Presbyterian Church each year on "Souper Sunday" to raise awareness and collect an offering for world hunger.
The church participates in other mission endeavors through its support of the Alliance of Baptists, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology as well as other special mission opportunities.
